Health Lottery Review 2024

HealthLottery.co.uk was launched in the Autumn of 2011 and is owned and managed by The Health Lottery ELM Limited. It puts a spin on most online lottery websites by donating 20% of each ticket sale to a worthy cause across Great Britain, Scotland, and Wales. In our Health Lottery review we will look at exactly what they have on offer as well as how you can join in and start playing while helping others at the same time.

Lotteries Available

HealthLottery does not offer any of the international lotteries that you might be used to seeing on online lottery sites. It does, however, offer its own unique lottery duly named the Health Lottery. This lottery takes place in 12 different societies across Great Britain, Scotland, and Wales. The 12 societies are spread out in the following areas:

  • EastHealth Lottery Review
  • East Midlands
  • London East
  • London West
  • North East & Cumbria
  • North West
  • Scotland
  • South East
  • South West
  • Wales
  • West Midlands
  • Yorkshire & Humber

How Does It Work?

As with most popular lottery websites, Health Lottery requires you to register an online player account with the site before you can play. The site uses IP tracking to ensure that only people in allowed regions are able to sign up an account and access the website’s full features.

Once you have registered an account, you can purchase tickets through the website. Because Health Lottery runs the lottery and sells the tickets, tickets purchased through the website are official tickets for the lottery draws that are to be held. Upon purchase, your tickets are securely kept in your online profile until the time of the draw.

The HealthLottery draws take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The jackpot is offered for matching all five numbers, and the bonus is £25,000 or 10% of the total sales of tickets for that draw. The jackpot is, however, capped at £250,000, meaning that you cannot win more than this.

Is HealthLottery.co.uk a Scam or Legit?

Health Lottery has been around for a good number of years. It also operates under an official licence and regulation of the Gambling Commission of England. This means that all of its operations are strictly regulated and the company is made to work to the exact letter of the law. This gives us great confidence in them and makes us believe that we can easily place our trust in them.

User Experience

The HealthLottery site is well designed and offers a clean and neat approach. It has striking colours and banners that stand out along with a simple layout to navigate, which places everything you need just a click away.

Health Lottery Mobile Site

For iPhone/iPad users, there is an official iOS app available that's pretty decent, though its layout could use some restructuring, and the need to log in every time gets pretty tedious. As for Android users, there is no official app (yet), but the site works flawlessly on smartphone and tablet web browsers to keep you in the loop wherever you are.

Health Lottery Features

HealthLottery offers a wide variety of additional features. Some of them are:

  • Health Lottery Scratch CardsSyndicate Play: Unlike most syndicate play on online lottery websites, you run your own syndicate with HealthLottery. You can download a syndicate form, and then it is up to you to recruit friends and family to play in a group with you. Once you have done this and each person has signed the syndicate form, you simply upload it back to the website and the tickets will be purchased for you as a syndicate group. While this could be annoying to some, it allows you to control who you are playing with and how the shares in the tickets are split.
  • QuickWin and Instant Games: There are a good amount of virtual instant win games available. These range in variety and are played at £1 per game. The maximum jackpot on these games is capped at £10,000, with some offering less. They are, however, a good way to pass time while still having a chance to win some money.
  • Raffle: HealthLottery hosts a monthly raffle that you can participate in automatically whenever you purchase a lottery ticket. The raffle is held on the 1st of every month and offers a grand prize of £250,000.
  • Scratch Cards: HealthLottery also offers scratch cards which you can play quickly and easily online to try your luck and see if you become a winner.

Payment/Withdrawal Options

Payment to HealthLottery can only be made using either your Visa/MasterCard debit or credit card, or by direct transfer from supported UK banking institutions. If you do not have any of these payment methods available, you may need to go to a supported retailer to purchase your ticket.

Withdrawals are done directly to your nominated bank account via wire transfer. The site states that there is a 14-working-day period in which your funds may be in transfer before appearing in your account.

Health Lottery Claim WinningsHow to Claim Your Winnings

Claiming your winnings through HealthLottery depends on how you purchased your ticket as well as how much you have won. As such, there are three categories for this:

Online Players

If you have purchased your ticket online, any winnings below £2,000 will be automatically deposited into your online player account, from which you may request a withdrawal. If your total prize is above £2,000, you will need to call Health Lottery and they will assist you in claiming your prize.

Direct Debit Players

If you purchase your tickets via direct deposit to HealthLottery, winnings up to £2,000 will automatically be paid directly into your bank account. As with online players, winnings above £2,000 will need to be claimed by calling HealthLottery.

Retail Players

Winnings up to £50 can be claimed at any supported retailer that sells HealthLottery tickets. If your winnings are above £50 but no more than £250, you may collect your winnings at any participating postal office. For any winnings above £250, you will need to call HealthLottery to claim your prize.

Customer Support

The HealthLotto website offers an extensive FAQ section. It could get slightly confusing, as old promotion FAQs are not removed, which leads to scrolling through a large amount of content that is no longer relevant. However, it tells you all you need to know about HealthLotto as well as answers any of the basic questions you could have about them. Additionally, support is offered through their support email (help@healthlottery.co.uk) and via telephone at 0844-375-55-55. Telephone support is offered Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm as well as Fridays from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm. There is also a snail mail address located at Department 374, Queensgate, Grange Road East, Birkenhead, CH41 5FD.

Welcome Bonus and Other Promotions

For all their online games, Health Lottery offers you 22 free spins as well as a 200% first time deposit bonus. While these are great bonuses for their online games, we could not see any bonuses for purchasing lottery tickets.

Rules and Regulations

HealthLottery allows any player that is above the age of 16 to participate in their offerings. They do, however, limit the site to players living in Great Britain, Scotland, and Wales. This is enforced by IP tracking when you visit the website to ensure that nobody from outside countries may register an account.

HealthLottery.co.uk Review – Conclusion

If you want to feel good about helping charitable organisations while still having a chance to win some cash, Health Lottery is a great place to start. While they may not have any international lotteries with huge jackpots available, they offer a decent mix of features that will keep you entertained. After all, this is one of the most popular lotteries in the UK for a reason.

The Health Lottery is one of my favourite lotteries to play, especially since it supports such a good cause. Feels good to know the money is going to help people rather than just someone's pocket or some sports organisation.
